Original title: The Tourist

Language: English

Country: USA

Year: 2010

Genre: Dramatic, thriller

Cast: Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie

Frank Tupelo is a maths teacher going to Italy to forget his past. Elise, on the other hand, is a very mysterious woman who is followed by the international police. These completely different characters meet on a train to Venice.

Elise invites Frank in her suite once they arrive and there, he immediately gets involved in chases, dangerous situations and blind dates.

We discover that Elise is looking for her husband whom she never sees because he’s an outlaw and, as a result of his own crime, Russian gangsters, the police and many others are in desperate need to find her.

And for those who know some famous Italian actors, it will be a laugh seeing Christian De Sica as the corrupt police inspector or Raoul Bova as the latin-lover.

Soon we will discover who is really the man going to the married couple appointments and the truth will be absolutely unexpected and shocking!

Most critics said that Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp weren’t properly matched, but I find them a perfect pair, especially acting in these two peculiar roles. The comparisons between Paris and Venice in the film were fantastic and I found it had a bit of everything, from funny scenes to really breathtaking ones.
